University is confident over exam results

THIS year's degree results at Southampton University are at least as good as previous years - the educational establishment is confidently predicting.

Last week, students found out the good or bad news when the university gave out the results of around 4,000 degrees.

A university spokeswoman said: "This year's results are as good as previous years.

"We would expect that, being one of the leading universities in the country."

Many students have dispersed but most will return to Southampton for the graduation ceremony in July.
