Family gets a special present

From the archive, first published Monday 30th Dec 2002.

A TADLEY couple had a very special present on Christmas Day - a baby boy.

Alfie Reeves was born at 4pm on December 25, weighing 8lb 3oz.

Mum Hayley, 24, from Long Grove, Tadley, said she was delighted Alfie was born on such a special day.

Alfie's brother and sister, three-year-old Luis and five-year-old Nicole, were excited at seeing their little brother, who arrived six days late.

Hayley went into hospital during Christmas morning but was sent home, only to return later in the afternoon, when Alfie arrived in a straight-forward and quick birth.

Proud dad Richard, 26, said: "He came as a surprise - we weren't expecting him to arrive on Christmas Day."
