CULINARY delights from around the world were served up at Southampton's POSH restaurant during a multicultural family party.
Traditional Bhangra music and masterly magicians were just some of the attractions designed to bring people from different cultural backgrounds together. The event organised by the multicultural music project Pukaar turned out to be a big success among the 250 adults and children who turned up. Different nationalities included Indian, Pakistani, Chinese, Spanish and English people all living in the city.
Pukaar's managing director Romail Gulzar said: "We had English people who made Asian friends and others who made new acquaintances with people from other cultures."
He added that Pukaar's regular curry nights were also managing to break down cultural barriers.
"We are now drawing in hundreds of people from over 15 nationalities to our regular curry nights.
"This family party helped to extend the age range to include the next generation in our multicultural experiences."
